Asus India finally unveiled the Asus Zenfone Max M2 & M2 Pro in a launch event held in New Delhi. The event kicked off with Asus announcing Android Pie update for it Asus Zenfone 5z & Zenfone Max Pro M1 which was launched earlier this year. The phone will also be launching today in Indonesia as well. Here’s are the official specifications for the device.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2
This device boasts a 6.26” Full HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio. This device from Asus will come in 3 different RAM and storage variants. Under the hood, it’s powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip with Adreno 512. The SD660 chip also comes with an Artificial Intelligence Engine for handling AI related tasks. This time Asus opted for Triple slot In the SIM tray instead of going with a hybrid one, which is most welcomed.
On the back of the device, there is a dual camera setup. The primary sensor is 12MP IMX456 with an aperture size of 1.8, and the secondary sensor is 5MP which serves as a depth sensor for portrait shots. Front selfies can be captured with a beautiful 13MP front facing the camera. There’s also an updated fingerprint scanner and face unlock.
According to Asus, Zenfone Max Pro M2 is the first device in the Mid-Range segment to boast Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 for screen protection. The device has a textured back, and a curved Glass design for a premium feel. One battery side of things we have a massive 5000mAh battery capacity which supports fast charging ( exact version is unknown ).
Asus Zenfone Max M2
This is the lower end variant of the Max Pro M2 which we have detailed earlier. This device comes with a 6.3” HD+ IPS LCD panel with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood, it rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon SD632 chip with Adreno 506 GPU.
For cameras, we have a dual rear setup with a 13MP sensor with an aperture size of f/1.8 and a secondary 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s an 8MP sensor for selfies. On the battery side of things, this device does come with a 4000 mAh battery along with the support for fast charging.
There’s fingerprint sensor on the back and support for face unlock. The device will be available in two variants – 3GB RAM/32 GB Storage & 4GB RAM/64GB Storage. As for the build quality the device sports a metal design with 2.5 curved glass edges and a textured back with a glossy finish.
Both the devices from Asus run on Android Oreo out of the box. As said by Asus, the Android Pie update should hit the new devices by the end of January 2019.
